How to rename several files at once using a template
Get copies of files with new names, for example photo_1, photo_2, photo_3.
What to prepare
You can add: Files. The allowed size and number of files are indicated on the tool page.
Procedure
Add files
Add the files and check their sequence: it specifies the numbers. The original files on the device will not be renamed directly.
Select settings
In the template, {name} means the previous name without extension, {n} is the number, {ext} is the extension with a dot, for example .jpg. The template “фото_{n}{ext}” will give фото_1.jpg and фото_2.jpg. Set the first number and check the new names in the preview.
Click the button
Click “Batch rename files” and wait until it’s ready. If an error appears, read the message and check the file, text, or settings.
Save and check
Download renamed_files.zip and extract it. Check out the new names. The _rename_report.json file inside shows what the files were called before and what they are called now.

- File name mask
New name template: {name} — old name without extension, {n} — number, {ext} — extension with a dot, for example .jpg.
- Starting number
The first number instead of {n} in the pattern. The next file will receive the next number.
- Prefix
What to add to the beginning of a line or file name. Insert a space if needed after adding.
- Suffix
What to add at the end of a line or after the entire filename pattern.
Good to know
The text from the suffix field is added at the very end, after the entire mask. If you need it before .jpg or other extension, put it in the template before {ext}. If the names match, the tool will add numbers so that one file does not replace another.
