How to save document text without formatting
Get plain text from a Word, ODT or RTF document.
What to prepare
You can add: DOCX, ODT, RTF. The allowed size and number of files are indicated on the tool page.
Procedure
Add files
Add DOCX, ODT or RTF. This tool is suitable when you need text for searching or further editing without formatting.
Select settings
There is no need to configure anything. The result will be TXT in UTF-8 encoding, which most modern editors can read.
Click the button
Read the terms of processing and confirm your consent. Click “Document to TXT” and wait until it’s ready. If an error appears, read the message and check the file, text, or settings.
Save and check
Click "Download" on the finished result. Check the paragraphs and text of the tables. In DOCX, cells are separated by Tab indentation. Fonts, colors and other design are not transferred to the text file.

Good to know
The text in the pictures is not recognized here. To do this, open “Recognize text on image”. The location of text and images from the document is not saved in TXT.
