How to convert CSV to JSON and JSON to CSV

Convert a simple CSV table into JSON records or such records back into a table.

CSV/TSV ↔ JSON: what to add → processing → what happens (CSV, JSON).

What to prepare

You can add: CSV, TSV, JSON. The allowed size and number of files are indicated on the tool page.

Procedure

  1. Add files

Add CSV, TSV or JSON. For JSON, you need a list of records like [{"name":"Anna"},{"name":"Ivan"}]. The values inside the entries should be simple, without other lists or entries.

  2. Select settings

Select a direction and column separator. For CSV → JSON, you can specify column names and types. If titles are not specified, they are taken from the first row of the CSV. If you specified them yourself, the first line is considered data.

  3. Click the button

Read the terms of processing and confirm your consent. Click “CSV/TSV ↔ JSON” and wait until it’s ready. If an error appears, read the message and check the file, text, or settings.

  4. Save and check

Click "Download" on the finished result. Open the result and compare the number of records and field names. In JSON -> CSV, check empty cells for missing values and header order.
