How to compare values of two JSON documents
Find added, deleted and changed values in two versions of JSON.
What to prepare
Open the tool using the button above and paste the text. There are two fields for comparison: old and new version.
Procedure
Prepare your text
Paste the old and new versions of JSON into two fields. Both texts must contain correct JSON notation, without comments or extra commas.
Select settings
There are no settings. The tool will compare the values and show where data has been added, disappeared or changed.
Click the button
Click "Compare JSON" and wait until it's ready. If an error appears, read the message and check the file, text, or settings.
Save and check
Click “Download” on the finished result; if there is a copy button, you can copy the text. Look at the names of the changed fields and their previous and new values. For example, $.name points to the "name" field, and $[0] points to the first item in the list. If the values are the same, a message indicating this will be shown.
Tool Options
There are no other settings. Follow the steps above.
Good to know
Spaces and the order of field names are not considered changes. The order of the list items is important: the rearrangement will appear in the report.
